Theatrical Drapery Rentals

Dominik Krzanowski houses the Steve Markham Drapery Collection. All rentals of drapes require payment upfront immediately and due to the vintage nature and condition of the collection a representative for the collection will supervise the transportation, installation, strike and return for each rental.

ABOUT MARKHAM COLLECTION

Steve Markham started his career in show business as a baton twirling vaudeville performer.  After serving our country in  WWI he became the classical music radio host for radio station KFAC in Los Angeles.

He has been collecting and restoring vintage theatre drapes since the early 1980’s.  He has found drapes in warehouses, old theatres, the occasional dumpster and one that had been cleaned but never paid for at a commercial dry cleaner’s.

His drapes have been featured in the made for TV movie “Gypsy” starring Bette Midler and the hit TV series “Murder She Wrote”.  His drapes can be seen at the Magic Castle, various award shows, and yearly benefits the “Best In Drag” at the Orpheum Theatre.  His “Curtain Show” is an audience  favorite during the LA Conservancy’s yearly “Last Remaining Seats” film series.  He has been featured in the “Los Angeles Magazine” and on “Turner Classic Movies”.

The vintage theatrical curtains in this collection are for rent on a weekly basis for motion pictures, television, print, and stage.
